About the Author
Lar Hothem was a well-known expert in the field of Indian arrowheads and artifacts. His popular series, Indian Artifacts of the Midwest series has now added its 5th volume. His other titles include Indian Axes & Related Stone Artifacts, Indian Pipes, Arrowheads & Projectile Points, and Indian Trade Relics. Lar passed away in 2006.

This book is full of great photos for comparison with your own artifacts. It gives uses for the artifacts and the author isn't ashamed to say the use isn't known. Lar Hothem is probably the best author of indian artifact books i've had the privelidge of reading.

He set the standard

Mr. Lar (short for Larry)Hothem passed away four years ago. He set the standard for books on artifacts. He authored over thirty books,brought color photography of artifacts to the forefront,and showed us great as well as average artifacts from some awesome collections. His love of and knowledge of ancient artifacts has seldom been equaled. We as collectors have lost one of the best and he will be greatly missed.
